LRT Shah Alam Line

Overview

The Shah Alam Line (SAL), also known as LRT3, is the third LRT line introduced into the Klang Valley Integrated Transit Network. It is represented in light blue on the system map and is operated by Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd under the Rapid KL brand.

The line spans 37.8 km from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, serving 20 stations across Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang. Built mainly as an elevated alignment with an underground section at Persiaran Hishamuddin, the Shah Alam Line improves rail connectivity in areas that were previously less accessible by urban rail.

As the first LRT line built outside the vicinity of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the Shah Alam Line strengthens public transport coverage in Selangor by connecting major residential, commercial, education, and industrial areas. It provides a direct rail link between Bandar Utama, Shah Alam, Klang, and Johan Setia, with an end-to-end journey of less than 60 minutes.
