The Selun Khas III (SK 3), also known as Saloon Coach 3 is a special private coach designed for exclusive use within KTM Charter Train services, offering a more personalised travel experience compared to standard passenger coaches.
The interior features dedicated living spaces, including a lounge, dining area, master bedroom with attached bathroom, and two guest rooms with a shared bathroom, creating a private and comfortable onboard environment.
The coach also includes a pantry for onboard meal preparation, making it suitable for private groups, special trips, and extended charter journeys.
SK 3 is a refurbished coach converted from the former AEC (EPLUS) coach by KTK DOM Railway in 2025. The upgrade focused on heavily redesigning the interior into a more private and exclusive layout, including new wall panels, lightning, flooring, and upgraded onboard facilities to create a more comfortable and premium environment.
While the interior has been significantly reconfigured, the exterior structure remains largely based on the original AEC (EPLUS) coach, retaining its coach body with an updated livery applied to reflect its new role. SK 3 also serves as the successor to the earlier SK 2 (ex-AFC 1405) and SK 1 coaches, replacing them with a more refined and modern interior to provide an improved travel experience.
The coach body was manufactured by Indian Railway Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and shipped to Hartasuma for assembly in 2003. Hartasuma then manufactured these train as AEC (EPLUS) and then later these coach were refurbished into ASC later. Now the 2nd refurbishment by KTK DOM Railway converted the ASC into SK 3 coaches with interior designed by Helmi Hanif Architect.
SK-III is currently owned by KTM Charter Train and will be used on chartered trains only.
The SK 3 carries a unique livery featuring a deep maroon body complemented by gold accents.
The entire coach is painted in maroon as a base colour to show a distinctive, premium design featuring a royal and heritage inspired color palette.
A gold band runs along the lower half of the coach, framed by thin pinstripes that add a refined and balanced appearance, while angled transitions near the end introduce a sense of movement.
The “Selun Khas” name is written in gold cursive script along the body, with a KTMB emblem and KTMB logo displayed at the side of the train.

The interior of the SK 3 is designed as a private lounge-style space with a fully carpeted floor in a deep maroon tone, creating a warm and comfortable setting.
The living area features a sofa and lounge chairs around a media console, while the dining area includes a long table with high-back chairs for group use.
Light wall panels and wood accents give the coach a refined look with large windows framed by integrated lighting. All lighting is indirect LED with a warm tone, providing soft and even illumination throughout the entire coach.
